Ana Kristina Gasteyer (born January 1st, 1970) is an American actor, singer and comic. She was best known for being a part of the NBC comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live in 1996-2002. In the years since, she's played in sitcoms, such as ABC's Suburgatory and TBS's People of Earth and NBC's American Auto. She also played a role in the movie Mean Girls. Gasteyer's career began at Northwestern University. Initially, she studied voice however, she switched to acting after becoming involved with an improv comedy troupe that was on campus. She's carried the same attitude through several roles in the supporting roles of Sheila Shay from Suburgatory (as the incredibly domineering Sheila Shay) and Karen Grisham as the exaggerated agent in Lady Dynamite.
